What DENOPSY 14MG is used for?

  • It is used in adults to treat relapsing - remitting multiple sclerosis (MS)

Talk to Doctor

Talk to your doctor before you take this medicine, if you:

  • Are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • Have severe liver or kidney problems
  • Have a serious problem with your bone marrow
  • Have low numbers of red or white cells in your blood or a reduced number of blood platelets
  • Are suffering from a serious infection
  • Have very low levels of proteins in your blood (hypoproteinemia)
  • Have high blood pressure (hypertension)
  • Have respiratory symptoms
  • Are going to have a vaccination

Pregnancy & Breast Feeding

  • Do not take DENOPSY 14MG, if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, as this medicine passes into the breast milk
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

Children & Adolescents

  • It should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age

Driving & Using Machines

  • It might make you feel dizzy which may impair your ability to concentrate and react. If you are affected, do not drive or use machines

 Interactions

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • Leflunomide, methotrexate and other medicines that affect the immune system (immunosuppressants or immunomodulators)
  • Rifampicin (used to treat tuberculosis)
  • Carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin (used for epilepsy)
  • Repaglinide, pioglitazone, nateglinide, or rosiglitazone (used for diabetes)
  • Daunorubicin, doxorubicin, paclitaxel, or topotecan (used for cancer)
  • Theophylline (used for asthma)
  • Tizanidine (used as a muscle relaxant)
  • Warfarin (used to make the blood thinner)
  • Oral contraceptives (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel)
  • Indometacin, ketoprofen (used for pain or inflammation)
  • Furosemide (used for heart disease)
  • Cimetidine (used for reducing gastric acid)
  • Zidovudine (used for HIV infection)
  • Rosuvastatin, simvastatin, atorvastatin, pravastatin for hypercholesterolemia (used for high cholesterol)
  • Cholestyramine (used for high cholesterol or relief from itching in liver disease)

 How to Use
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Swallow the medicine whole with some water

If you take more DENOPSY 14MG

  • If you have taken too much DENOPSY 14MG, call your doctor straight away

If you forget to take DENOPSY 14MG

  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet. Take your next dose at the scheduled time

If you stop taking DENOPSY 14MG

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so

 Side Effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them

Serious
  • Rash, hives, swelling of lips, tongue or face or sudden difficulty breathing, blistering or ulcers in your mouth
  • High fever, shaking, chills, reduced urine flow, or confusion
  • Yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes, darker urine than normal, unexplained nausea and vomiting, or abdominal pain
  • Shortness of breath or persistent cough
Common
  • Headache, diarrhoea, increase in Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) (increase in blood levels of certain hepatic enzymes)
  • Upper respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, bronchitis, sinusitis, sore throat and discomfort when swallowing, cystitis, gastroenteritis viral, tooth infection, laryngitis, fungal infection of the foot
  • Mild allergic reactions
  • Feeling anxious
  • Pins and needles, feeling weak, numb, tingling or pain in the lower back or leg (sciatica), feeling numb, burning, tingling or pain in the hands and fingers (carpal tunnel syndrome)
  • Increase in blood pressure
  • Vomiting, upper abdominal pain
  • Rash, acne
  • Pain of the tendons, joints, bones, muscle pain
  • Needing to urinate more often than usual
  • Weight loss
Uncommon
  • Decrease in the number of blood platelets (mild thrombocytopenia)
  • Increased feeling or sensitivity, especially in the skin; stabbing or throbbing pain along one or more nerves, problems in the nerves of the arms or legs (peripheral neuropathy)
  • Nail disorders
  • Post-traumatic pain
