Talk to your doctor before you take this medicine, if you:
- Are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine
- Have bleeding problems
- Have kidney or liver problems
- Have heart or blood pressure problems
- Have a condition called amyloidosis
- Have shortness of breath or cough
Pregnancy & Breast Feeding
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine
Children & Adolescents
- It should not be used in children and adolescents, due to limited experience
Driving & Using Machines
- BORTENAT 2MG might cause tiredness, dizziness, fainting or blurred vision. Do not drive or operate any dangerous tools or machines if you experience such side effects
Interactions
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
- Ketoconazole used to treat fungal infections
- Fluoxetine used to treat depression
- Rifampicin and antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections
- Oral antidiabetics
How to Use
BORTENAT 2MG is only given by the doctor or nurses
Side Effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them
Serious
- Muscle cramping, muscle weakness
- Confusion, visual loss of disturbances, blindness, seizures
- Reduction in the number of red blood cells and white blood cells
Common
- Sensitivity, numbness, tingling or burning sensation of the skin, or pain in the hands or feet due to nerve damage
- Shortness of breath without exercise
- Nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, loss of appetite
- Constipation with or without bloating
- Headache
- Herpes virus infection
- Sudden fall of blood pressure on standing which may lead to fainting
- Depression
- Swelling around the eyes or face or swelling in the ankles, wrists, arms or legs
- Dizziness, light-headedness
- Changes in calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium and phosphates in your blood, too much sugar in your blood
- Rash and/or itching, lumps on the skin or dry skin
- Redness of the skin or redness and pain at the injection site
- Dehydration
- Heartburn, bloating, belching, wind or stomach pain
- Sore mouth or lip, dry mouth, mouth ulcers or throat pain
Uncommon
- Palpitations, changes in heartbeat, heart failure, heart attack, chest pain, chest discomfort or decreased ability of the heart to work
- Paralysis, seizures
- Increased or decreased urine production (due to kidney damage), painful passing of urine or blood/proteins in the urine
- Yellow discoloration of eyes and skin (jaundice)
- Swelling of your lymph nodes
- Hair loss
